Even before ChatGPT came onto the scene, the gray area of human-AI collaboration offered an intriguing space for artistic exploration. Where is the line between human artist and machine? Is any of our work truly our own? These are the questions I pursued when making 'Above and Again', meditating on the premise of artistic originality and the 'human' nature of our work.

Using JavaScript and an image-generating engine, I iterated on an array of words - places like 'The Himalayas' or 'The Great Barrier Reef' - enough times to abstract the original visualization. I randomized the output of these images on a simple site, overlayed across the text. Each refresh of the site generates a completely original layout - if, that is, you can argue that any of the work is truly original in the first place.
